What are peptides and how are they made?

Peptides are short chains of amino acids — the same building blocks that make up proteins. They occur naturally in the body, acting as signals that regulate a wide range of biological functions. In a research context, peptides allow scientists to study these mechanisms in controlled, isolated conditions with precision that natural compounds cannot provide.

The peptides in our catalog are synthetic, produced through a process called solid-phase peptide synthesis. In this method, amino acids are sequentially attached to one another in an exact, predetermined order — building the peptide chain from the ground up, one link at a time. This process gives complete control over the final sequence, eliminating the variability and contamination risks associated with peptides extracted from biological sources.

Once synthesised, each peptide is purified — typically using high-performance liquid chromatography — to remove any incomplete sequences or byproducts from the synthesis process. The result is then lyophilised: freeze-dried into a stable powder form that preserves structural integrity during storage and shipping. Every compound in our catalog arrives in this form, verified by independent third-party testing before it leaves our facility.

What is the purity of your peptides?

Every compound in our catalog is independently verified to a minimum purity of 99% prior to entering our inventory. Purity is confirmed through high-performance liquid chromatography — a gold standard analytical technique that separates and measures each component of a compound to identify any impurities or incomplete sequences. Peptide identity is additionally confirmed through mass spectrometry, which verifies the molecular weight and structure of each compound matches its specification exactly. The results of both analyses are documented in the Certificate of Analysis available for every product.

How should your products be used?

All products sold by PureSeq are intended strictly for scientific research and development purposes. They are designed for use in controlled laboratory settings — in vitro studies, analytical research, and scientific investigation. They are not intended for human or veterinary use, self-administration, or consumption in any form.

By placing an order with PureSeq, the buyer confirms they are aware of and compliant with the relevant legislation governing the purchase, handling, and use of research compounds in their country. PureSeq assumes no liability for use of products contrary to their intended purpose.

How should I store my peptides?

Lyophilised peptides — the freeze-dried powder form in which all PureSeq products are supplied — are stable compounds when stored correctly. Unopened vials should be kept in a freezer at -20°C or below, sealed, dry, and away from direct light. Under these conditions, lyophilised peptides maintain their structural integrity for an extended period. Do not expose unopened vials to repeated temperature fluctuations — take out what you need and return the rest to storage immediately.

Once a vial has been reconstituted, storage requirements change. Reconstituted peptides should be kept in a refrigerator at 2–8°C and used within 28 days of opening. Do not refreeze a reconstituted peptide — the freeze-thaw cycle degrades the compound and compromises the integrity of your research material. Keep reconstituted vials sealed, away from light, and clearly labelled with the date of reconstitution.

QUALITY & TRANSPARENCY

What are peptides and how are they made?

Third-party testing means every batch we receive is sent to an independent, accredited European laboratory for analysis before it enters our inventory. The laboratory has no commercial relationship with our supplier — their only role is to verify what the compound actually is and what it actually contains. The results cannot be influenced, adjusted, or selectively published.

This matters because in the research peptide industry, self-reported quality claims are common and unverifiable. A supplier can print any purity percentage on a label without independent confirmation. Without third-party testing there is no way for a buyer to know whether a compound meets its stated specification, contains contaminants, or is even the correct peptide at all.

For a full breakdown of what every batch is tested for and the standards we hold ourselves to, visit our About page.

What is a Certificate of Analysis and where can I find it?

A Certificate of Analysis — or COA — is a document produced by an independent laboratory that records the results of testing conducted on a specific batch of a compound. It confirms the peptide’s identity, purity percentage, and the results of every analysis performed. It is the primary document that separates a verified compound from an unverified claim.

Every product in the PureSeq catalog has a COA available in our COA Vault. Each document is batch-specific — meaning the results you are viewing correspond directly to the exact batch of the compound you are purchasing, not a generic or historical test. If you have any questions about a specific COA or want to verify a result, contact us directly.

What if I want to independently test my peptides?

We encourage it. The confidence we have in our products is built on independent verification — applying that same standard yourself is entirely consistent with how we operate. If you choose to have your peptides tested by an accredited laboratory, we are happy to assist with any documentation or batch information you need to facilitate that process.

ORDERS & SHIPPING

What happens after I place an order?

Once your order is placed and payment is confirmed, you will receive an order confirmation email with your order details. Every order is processed and dispatched from our European fulfillment center within 1–2 business days. When your order ships, you will receive a tracking number by email so you can follow your package from dispatch to delivery.

Every order is packaged with care. Vials are secured to prevent movement during transit. All exterior packaging is discreet — plain, neutral labeling, nothing on the outside that identifies the contents or the sender. Every order includes a printed Certificate of Analysis and product labeling inside the package as standard. Buyers who prefer maximum discretion can opt out of both at checkout.

If anything is unclear about your order status or you have not received a confirmation email, contact us directly at info@pureseq.com and we will respond within 24 hours.

Do you ship to my country?

PureSeq ships across the European Union. All orders are fulfilled from our European fulfillment center, meaning intra-EU shipments do not attract import duties or customs fees — your order arrives without additional charges or complications at the border.

For customers outside the EU, shipping availability varies by country. If you are unsure whether we ship to your location, contact us directly and we will confirm.

Regardless of destination, all exterior packaging is plain and discreet. Customs documentation accurately describes the contents in compliance with applicable regulations — we do not falsify shipping declarations.

How long will my order take to arrive?

All orders are dispatched from our European fulfillment center within 1–2 business days of payment confirmation. Delivery timeframes within the EU typically range from 2–5 business days depending on your country and local carrier performance. Tracking information is sent by email at the point of dispatch so you can monitor your order in real time.

Orders placed on weekends or public holidays are processed on the next available business day.

If your order has not arrived within the expected timeframe, contact us at [email] and we will investigate immediately.
